Our world is dying? That’s what everyone thinks but in some cases that fact is exaggerated. This photo, in my opinion is one of the best photos of 2018. Besides the adorable penguins this photo demonstrates amazing composition guidelines. Also it proves a point that we need into the year 2019.
This photo demonstrates a lot of the guidelines we have learned in the class. The first and most obvious is the rule of thirds the horizon is on the top third of the photo. This gives the effect that the land is a long on going piece of land, also, the rule of thirds is shown in The penguins. The group of penguins is on the third of the image and so is the one penguin. The next guideline demonstrated is the balance. No it is not symmetrical balance but non-symmetrical balance. The group of penguins is “heavier” then the one song le penguin beside it. They also used perspective by contrasting the beach with the penguins to show how large the beach actually is. Finally, it uses lighting to have a bit of the reflection on the beach of the sky which looks incredible.
This photo shows a change in our environment. The story of this photo is that this beach is a huge breeding ground for penguins but in the early years it was used as a public beach mostly for tourists and the penguins were having troubles. Later on in was closed down and became a private breeding ground for thousands of penguins. This shows that yes we are having environmental issues in our world but with good people and a lot of care we can help out the environment. This also shows that one small thing like closing of one of many tourist attractions can make a huge different in our world.
In conclusion, in my opinion this photo is the best of 2018. It is a gorgeous photo and it demonstrates many guidelines that are important in a photo but it also inspires many people to make a change in our world.
